New Spotify update ditches the heart sign, replaces with a plus sign and frustrates users
Spotify is rolling a new update to the mobile app and some users are frustrated by the new look of the apps interface. Spotify did not make a significant update on its interface for several decades, but now adding an extra step for the users to like or add to library.
The most prominent change is the ditching of the “heart” icon used to add a track to the “liked songs” library. The heart symbol is replaced with a new “+” icon. The icon has the same function but adds a second step to the process in which users have to select which playlist they want to add the song to.

The new change took social media platforms by a storm and a lot of Spotify users to react to the change with many saying they were happy with how it was.
With the new interface change, Spotify is also adding new features to its mobile app. Users will be able to watch video podcasts alongside the audio, they will have the smart shuffle option to suggest tracks in curated playlists and an autoplay feature for podcasts. Plus, the beta of DJ is also launched. DJ will be a personalized AI guide that knows the music taste of the user and suggest tracks to his/her like.
